Ok, well I got done editing the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare review earlier than expected, so here it is! Hopefully a start to a good long running.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Review.

Let's just start this off by saying 'WOW!' This is one of the best single player games I've ever played, and multiplayer is just off the charts on the incredometer. If you're looking for an epic story with some incredible replay value this is the game for you.

Single Player:

Imagine you are an SAS recruit, fresh out of training and with little to no experience. Now imagine your commanding officer is one of the biggest bad asses in the world. You now are Soap McTavrish.

You start off on the SAS training grounds learning the ropes of gameplay, if you are familiar with FPS games, you can just breeze through this. You shoot a couple targets, learn to shoot, quick target, melee, etc. Then you do a run through of a mock up of the next mission you are assigned to. This is more or less another quick tutorial and test of your skills to find which difficulty is best suited for you.

If you are fairly good at FPS games I would recommend starting off on Hardened, even if you think you can do Veteran. It will give you the game you want - you can get the achievements after your first play through. If you are a normal player, well - normal!

Without giving anything away the basic gist of the story is Russian Madman with crazy weapons stocks, and Middle East insurgent fighters with ties to this Russian. It all plays out very cinematically with some control inbetween! It honestly feels like you are playing the key rolls in the next big blockbuster movie.

The single player will keep you on the edge of your seat, and drive you to complete it in one gaming session if you have the time. The delivery is ten out of ten and deserves praise for years to come. Intense firefights, ties to your squad, emotional turmoil, and stunning graphics makes Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare a must have.

Multiplayer:

Now for the bread winner. With over 150,000 players on at peak times as of this Holiday season, you can't go wrong with this purchase. If you are a FPS fan - Call of Duty 4 is a must have.

To start off, multiplayer delivers great gameplay, what we've come to expect from Infinity Ward. With a huge selection of weapons, 16 different maps, and 605 attainable levels (yes, 550!) it will never leave you 'wanting for more' as you will never leave your sofa!

Each map brings something new to the table, be it a city map, rural, or abandoned Russian trainyard. It is quite possible to feel as if you're playing a different game each time. Some maps are only playable in certain 'playlist' due to size and style, which gives a reason to play as many game times as possible.

The playlist are very broad, and give something to everyone. Spanning from classic Team Deathmatch to "Domination" all game modes are great fun. When you first begin you will notice not all game modes are available. This gives new players a chance to 'ease' into the game and learn the online basics.

A broad variety of weapons are available in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Assault Rifles, SMGs, LMGs, Shotguns, Snipers, and Pistols are all choices in game. Twenty Six weapons in all, not including perk items which would bring the total to 29. This amount of weaponry gives all player types something to drench blood from their enemies.

Another great thing about Call of Duty 4's online is the leveling system. Fifty Five levels per 'prestige.' Each level requires a certain amount of 'experience' which can be gained by killing enemies, capturing points, and winning games. As you progress in your leveling you will gain new weapons, perks, and challenges. The best part about gaining all 55 levels? Once you hit 55, you get the option to do it all over again in 'Prestige Mode'. Give up all of your weapons, camos, and perks just for a shiny new emblem! While this may not be for everyone, it does add a fun factor for some (myself included).

Challenges are well... challenges. Examples are getting 25/75/150 kills with the M-16A4 assault rifle, each earning a different amount of 'experience'. (250, 500, and 1,000 respectively) There is a broad range of challenges from winning certain game types to humiliating your enemies in fun fashion.

Overall multiplayer for Call of Duty 4 is a great experience for any FPS lover. With in game stat tracking, some clan support, dozens of weapons and maps, and a huge fun factor - this game will be populated for years to come.

Graphics: 10/10

Overall Score: 10/10

The birth of the era.

Hello visitor,

This blog will be soon used to review games, guide purchases, and answer questions about the Xbox 360 and PC. So keep your eyes open and your RSS Feeds clear.

To start it off though, here is a little about the author.

I am an avid Xbox gamer, I started my gaming career on the SNES as most of my generation. I moved up to PS1 and N64, followed by Computer games. After my discovery of the Computer community I was very shy to come back to my beloved consoles aside from the few PS2 games I played for fun (can we say Guitar Hero?) At the release of the original XBOX Gaming System and it's very capable online gameplay system, I figured I'd give consoles another shot.

The overall experience I received while playing on the original XBL was great fun, but still couldn't compete with my Computer love. I quickly went back to playing Computer only online. Waiting for the day consoles could suck me back in.

While awaiting for that day I spent most of my time playing games like Call of Duty 1, Battlefield 1942, and Diablo 2 on the side - when low and behold Blizzard gave a treat (or drug) to the masses - World of Warcraft. I quickly became hooked rolling new 'toons' every time I hit 60, decking them out in epics and PvPing to my hearts desire. Though this quickly grew old after two or so years - I longed for a new experience, this was in the long awaited Xbox 360.

I was not fortunate enough to get a 360 on release day, or release year even for that matter. It was almost a year after the release of the 360 did I decide to finally purchase it - and what a great choice. I have since been hooked and rarely jump back to my computer except for those LAN parties and clan battles these days.

Well, that's my story of getting into gaming and XBL. Expect many updates, reviews, strategies, and the few opinionated 'this game rules' posts.

Check back in a few days for the first full review and a few small strategies on: Call of Duty 4!
